This has been a bittersweet experience. When I was pregnant with my daughter, I decided to use cloth diapers, and although they are slightly more work than disposables, I came to really enjoy the experience. I got to the point where I really loved those little pieces of cloth. I know you might think I’m strange for loving my daughter’s diapers, but unless you’ve used cloth diapers, you can never understand. If you have used cloth, you probably know what I’m talking about. So anyway…my daughter’s finished with diapers! She hadn’t used one during the day for about a week, and her morning diapers were staying dry, so I decided it was time. I washed up the dirties, cleaned the pail one last time, and packed it all away, hoping that my husband is taking my hints about another baby down the road seriously. It feels like the end of an era, and I guess it is! My baby isn’t a baby anymore! (WAH!)
Here’s where we kept the diapers, on her dresser:
And here’s the dresser, bereft of all baby materials:
Here’s the diaper pail before (I know…YUCK!):
Here’s the pail after I applied a little elbow grease:

Whohoo! Congrats? How old is she that you were able to stop? More power to you for sticking to cloth diapers. A huge debate now a days. I tackled my pantry, and go rid of a scary can of eel, eeek! chekc it out.

I am soooo in love with my son’s cloth nappies. I had never heard of the new ones until I was pregnant with him.
I know it’s meant to save money, but I think I have a bit of an addiction. In fact, hubby has put me on a buying ban.
I am now pregnant so I’m glad I can get more use out of them(and hopefully save that money!).

Ahhh an end to an era! Our boy has been potty trained for a few months now and though it’s glorious not to have to purchase diapers and all that it is a sign that he’s getting bigger everyday. He’s our baby and it’s hard to see the youngest getting so big.
Great bitter sweet tackle!
Blessings,
Kim

I remember these bittersweet times, one more phase with the baby….over. But the ones to come are truly so wonderful!!! Thanks for sharing your pics and congratulations on getting everything put away so quickly. It would have probably taken me 9 months to a year!

Bittersweet, yes, but I’m sure you’ll be much happier after a month with out poopy diapers!

Amen sista, you said it in a nutshell! So many people take for granted the freedoms we have. Step back and take a moment to savor what you have and thank a soldier, a veteran and god!
